Discover Special Events at Mississippi Museums

Are you looking for a unique venue to host your next event? Look no further than the Mississippi Department of Archives and History (MDAH), which offers four different venues for special events. From traveling exhibitions to Mississippi-made products, MDAH has something for everyone. On Saturday, December 3, join us at 11 a.m. for free snacks and shopping at the Mississippi Museum Store.

The two Mississippi museums will be closed on Thursday, November 24 for Thanksgiving, but are open Tuesday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Explore interactive exhibits, artifacts, and stories from people who shaped our state with your family, school, or community group.

Notable Events

The Oxford Book Conference is held at the University of Mississippi in Oxford and includes notable authors, publishers, educators, and book lovers who deliver speeches, round tables, and readings to celebrate reading, writing, and books. The Yoknapatawpha Summer Writers Workshop is a three-day creative workshop on fiction and nonfiction writing led by the Division of Outreach and Continuing Education at the University of Mississippi for writers of all backgrounds and levels of experience.

Venues

The Mississippi Museum of Art, located downtown at 380 South Lamar Street in Jackson, MS 39201, offers visitors the chance to discover a Mississippi story, preserve it for future generations, or share it with others.
